Oleksandr Usyk has reacted to being told that heavyweight legend, Mike Tyson, believes Tyson Fury will 'pound' on him if the two eventually meet.

Tyson made the prediction during an appearance on the Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson podcast, saying that he believes Fury's size and power will be too much for Usyk to handle.

"Fury will pound him," Tyson said. "He's too big for him. He's too strong for him. He's too fast for him."

Usyk, who is the current WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight champion, was asked about Tyson's comments during a recent interview with Sky Sports.

"I respect Mike Tyson," Usyk said. "He's a great boxer, a great champion. But I think he's wrong. I think I can beat Tyson Fury."

Usyk and Fury are expected to face off later this year in a unification bout that could determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

The fight is still in the early stages of negotiations, but both fighters have expressed their desire to make it happen.

Usyk is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Joshua in September to capture the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles. Fury, meanwhile, is coming off a trilogy victory over Deontay Wilder to retain the WBC title.

A fight between Usyk and Fury would be one of the biggest heavyweight fights in years. It would also be a chance for both fighters to cement their legacy as one of the best heavyweights of their generation.
