Police are currently investigating an altercation that occurred during an amateur boxing event in Barry on May 31. Two individuals, a 39-year-old man from Neath and a 28-year-old man from Pencoed, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and grievous bodily harm.

The South Wales Police received a call reporting the incident at the Masonic Hall on Broad Street, Barry, shortly after 9:40 PM. According to a source familiar with the event, there were reports of chairs being thrown during the altercation.

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that they transported one person to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for further medical attention.

A spokesperson from the South Wales Police stated, "Shortly before 9:40 PM last night, officers from the South Wales Police responded to reports of a fight at the Masonic Hall on Broad Street, Barry. Two men, one aged 39 from Neath and another aged 28 from Pencoed, were arrested on suspicion of affray and grievous bodily harm. They are currently being held at Cardiff Bay police station. One individual was treated at the hospital for cuts. Investigations into the incident are ongoing."

The Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson mentioned, "We received a call on May 31, shortly before 10 PM, regarding an incident at Barry Masonic Hall. We dispatched one duty operational manager and one emergency ambulance to the scene. One person was transported to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for further treatment."
