On today's episode of Heck of a Morning, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck discusses the reaction to UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby's tweets, as well as Conor McGregor's return to The Ultimate Fighter.
Shelby took to Twitter on Tuesday to offer his thoughts on a number of recent UFC matchups, including a potential fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway for the featherweight title. Shelby also said that he is "interested" in seeing a fight between Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.
The tweets from Shelby generated a lot of reaction from fans and fighters alike. Some people agreed with Shelby's assessment of the matchups, while others disagreed. Some people also called for Shelby to be fired from his job.
In other news, Conor McGregor has announced that he will be returning to The Ultimate Fighter as a coach for season 31. McGregor will coach opposite Michael Chandler, who will also be making his return to the show.
McGregor and Chandler are both former UFC champions, and they are both expected to be involved in big fights in the near future. McGregor is expected to fight for the lightweight title again, while Chandler is expected to fight for the welterweight title.
The Ultimate Fighter season 31 is set to premiere on July 11 on ESPN+.
