Amir Albazi edged Kai Kara-France by split decision in the main event of UFC Vegas 74 on Saturday night, earning a big win over the No. 1-ranked flyweight contender.

Albazi, who entered the fight ranked No. 10, won the first two rounds on all three judges' scorecards, but Kara-France rallied in the final round to win the third round on two of the judges' scorecards. The final score was 29-28, 29-28, and 28-29.

With the win, Albazi moves into the top five of the flyweight rankings and puts himself in position for a title shot. Kara-France remains the No. 1 contender, but he will need to get a win over another top contender to stay in line for a title shot.

In the co-main event, Rodolfo Viera defeated Cody Durden by unanimous decision. Viera, who entered the fight ranked No. 15, won all three rounds on all three judges' scorecards. The final score was 30-27, 30-27, and 30-27.

With the win, Viera moves into the top 10 of the bantamweight rankings. Durden, who was ranked No. 12, drops to No. 14.
